Remake!

I have been inspired to remake some of my old clothes. I'm so tired of my wardrobe right now and I have so many dresses that are too short to wear now. :( So, I'm going to remake them! I'm super psyched and spent forever at the fabric store today getting little things that I'll need. I'll try to post before and after pictures of everything just in case anyone is interested. :)

We're Moving!

We are escaping from Rexburg for a semester! Yay! We are moving to Blackfoot (so far I know) in August for Mathew to work. I will also be working for one of the months at the beet dump. For those of you who don't know, the beet dump is where farmers drop off their insanely large amounts of beets. I don't know exactly what I'll be doing, but it's going to be an adventure! Definitely a change from JCP.

I'm super excited to move. I'm going to be a stay at home wife for most of the time. I don't know how I'm going to fill my days but part of it will be with working out. I am so happy that I will finally have time to exercise! Other than that, I'll probably try and be crafty or something. I hope I don't go loopy.

So it's been quite an ordeal to find a place to live. Blackfoot is definitely not like Rexburg, you can't just sign for five months at any old place. They all want year long leases and they don't want to make exceptions. I checked craigslist daily for like a month and a half but nothing was working out. Finally, Mathew's mom found out about this family who rents out an apartment above their garage for a month-to-month lease. It's perfect! We went and looked at it yesterday and it's so cute. Small, but cute and clean! I'm so happy we finally found something. Prayers are definitely answered. Anyways, that's about it. If anyone has any ideas of things I can do to keep busy while Mathew is at work, I'd love to hear them. Thanks :)

Bagels

I was informed of an awesome event that happens at Broulim's every night at 6 p.m. They take all the bagels from the day and bag them up and sell them for $1.00! You get a bag of six bagels for $1.00 and if you get there right at six, you get to tell them what kinds you want. It's pretty awesome. Maybe others knew about this already but I was SO excited to find out. I know bagels are not the healthiest choice but I LOVE them and am so excited to try all the different flavors. Yay for cheap bagels!

All-nighter....almost

I've talked about my pattern making class before correct? Well it's probably the most difficult, time consuming, awesome class I have. I seriously learn SOOOOO much and feel like the subject is seriously going to benefit me. Well, today we had our mid-term design project due...even though midterms was a while ago. We had to design a pattern, then make the pattern, then construct it. I designed a dress with princess seam lines on the front and back, and a circle skirt. I loved my fabric and was pretty happy with the pattern. I wanted to keep it fairly simple so it wouldn't be a nightmare to construct. I was successful at it not being a nightmare but it was waaaay more time consuming than I was expecting. I was up till 1 a.m. working on it and had to be on campus be 7:15 to print off my pattern envelope and stuff.

This post is really just another shout out to Mathew. He stayed up the WHOLE time with me. I told him many times he could go to bed but he never did. He sat by me on the couch and was so patient. He even helped me work on the pattern envelope while I sewed. We took a little break and walked to get ice cream. (We felt better about eating it since we were walking :)...) We also watched Little Rascals while I worked. It meant tons to me that he stayed with me. Even though the whole time I just felt horrible because he was so tired.

Then this morning I was running a little late (surprise) and completely spaced bringing the ribbon to go with my dress. I panicked but Mathew just dropped me off, turned the car around and went home to get it, then dropped it back off to me within like 20 minutes. I don't know where I would be without him. He's exhausted but hasn't complained even once.

Okay I know it's probably not that exciting to read about how much I love and appreciate my husband but I needed to do it.

Here is a picture of my project. I forgot to get one of it on the dress form but hopefully I'll get one later. It looks a lot better on the dress form but oh well. Oh and it's half scale...so it's really small.

Surprise Breakfast

This morning I woke up to this lovely message on our little white board in our room:

Good morning, I have breakfast ready for you

I then proceeded to the kitchen where I found delicious hot french toast made by my wonderful husband.

Fabulous morning

Health

So remember how a lost 30 pounds? Remember how I promised myself I wouldn't gain anything when I got married? Okay you probably don't remember that promise but I do. Well, I broke that promise. I'm ashamed to say I have gained some weight. I'd prefer not to tell you the number, just know that I am sad. I am not far from what I weighed after losing 30 pounds but still.

The point of this post is not to whine and complain (like unfortunately many of my posts have been). The point is to get some advice. We got an iPod touch (YAY) and I got this app (thank you Steph) called My Fitness Pal. Well, I entered in all my information and it told me my net calories a day should be 1340. I have not yet found time to get back into a workout routine yet, so right now I am trying to only eat 1340 calories a day. I am STARVING all the time! Seriously, I eat a pretty good balanced meal: protein, fruits, veggies (sometimes), limited bread, etc. and I try to eat every couple hours but like 30 minutes to an hour after I eat, I'm starving again. Not just a little hungry, like painfully hungry. My question to all of you (please help) is: is this healthy???? 1340 calories seems like a super small amount to me. When I was working out really hard I was eating a lot more and still losing weight. I know my ability to eat more came from the calories I burned working out, but I'm just confused. I'm confused about if it is healthy for me to eat such a small amount of calories a day. Should I listen to my body and eat more? Or should I listen to this little app telling me to starve myself?

I always thought it would be easy for me to lose weight again after I figured out my system from before. But it's reeeaaaly hard. I can't figure out just what I did before. I know I worked out a TON but I'm either too busy or not motivated. I'd really love any and all advice, even if it's small. Thank you. :)

White Party

Sorry for the long absence. I've had a couple breakdowns from stress this week. But I'm refreshed and feeling much better. So last week was Memorial Day as we all know. My whole family was in town, which is my favorite thing in the world. My wonderful sister conjured up this idea to have an all white party since Memorial Day is supposedly the first day you can wear white again after Labor Day. I admit I was pretty reluctant to participate but being the baby sister, I was convinced to put on a hideous all white outfit and have my bangs poofed. Well, the party turned out great, even dad wore all white. My job was to make a dessert so I made this fabulous little dish and ignored thinking about calories. It was my first time making anything cheesecake and it didn't turn out quite as good as I wanted but I was still a fan.

After dinner, my siblings and I played Pit. I forget how much I love this game. There came a point where I couldn't breath or talk because I was laughing so hard. Once again, I love my family. It was such an awesome weekend. Anyways, here are some pictures.
